When you call in your claim to your insurance provider, they will send you to the glass claims department or a (TPA) third party administrator. The TPA is a direct competitor of ours and every other local glass shop. The TPA will do everything in their power to convince you to use their replacement shop. Remember, you have the right to choose any shop you choose. They are not supposed to steer you to certain replacement shops in any way. Their representative will receive a commission if you choose their replacement shop. Please take the time to read these steering methods commonly used to steal our customers and those of your other local service providers.
1. The TPA will instruct you that any other shop you choose is not a preferred service provider and you may have to pay out of pocket. That statement is false! The shops in this area are well aware of the fair and reasonable pricing for this area. That is simply a steering method. I can assure you that you will have no out of pocket cost regardless of the shop you choose.
2. The TPA will then instruct you that your insurance company does not warranty our work. What they really mean is, the TPA you are speaking with does not warranty our work. Remember, they are a replacement shop and our direct competitor. We do not expect them to warranty our work, we do not warranty their work either. The insurance provider requires each individual shop to carry their own warranty. We warrant our workmanship and our reputation matters more to us than dollar amount. A windshield warranty is simple. A shop can not warranty your new glass from breakage. What they can offer you is a warranty against leaks, workmanship, damaged parts, wind noise and stress cracks. Most shops big or small carry the same Lifetime Warranty. They may be written differently, but a basically the same. The point is, that is just another scare tactic to steer you toward using their shop! Stick with your shop of choice.
3. The biggest thing the TPA will use to win you over is the right to appraisal or inspection. This tactic is used several different ways and usually results in our direct competitor showing up for the inspection (they are not licensed to perform windshield inspections in the state of Florida). When they arrive, they will conveniently have the exact windshield for your vehicle and will offer to install it while they are there. If Next Auto Glass is your shop of choice we would like to be present for the 'inspection' in order to ensure that you get a quality product installed with the care that you deserve.
DON'T JUST TAKE OUR WORD FOR ALL THIS! GOOGLE "AUTO GLASS MONOPOLY" AND READ IT FOR YOURSELF or look at this news story by an NBC affiliate in Connecticut. THIS AGGRESSIVE STEERING IS HAPPENING ALL OVER THE U.S. HELP US FIGHT BACK AND MAKE IT A FAIR AND LEVEL PLAYING FIELD FOR THE AUTO GLASS INDUSTRY!
Take the time to research and choose a reputable LOCAL replacement shop for your next windshield replacement. Your windshield can save your life in a auto accident! Florida was concerned for your safety when they made it a law to replace any broken or cracked windshield. A windshield is considered a safety device not only because it keeps objects from entering your vehicle, but it also is a support for your roof in the case of a rollover. The windshield is also used to absorb the impact of your air bag before it strikes your passenger side occupant.
REMEMBER, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO CHOOSE ANY SHOP YOU WANT TO REPLACE YOUR WINDSHIELD! THESE TPA'S HAVE A MONOPOLY ON OUR INDUSTRY NATIONWIDE. YOUR LOCAL SHOPS LIKE US NEED YOUR HELP TO FIGHT BACK!
